Editorial standards

Follower publishes practical guides, reviews and features for creators choosing platforms, building an audience and running a business. Some articles also help subscribers understand how these platforms work.

Our articles aim to help readers understand a topic and put that knowledge to use. Depending on the subject, a guide may include a worked example, a planning template or a comparison to help readers choose.

Language

We use clear, natural US English, explain unfamiliar terms and give practical examples. We focus on how a platform or feature works and what its benefits and limits mean for readers.

Authorship

Most articles are written by Jessica Sanders; others are credited to Follower Editorial. The fact-checking credit refers to Follower’s own editorial review. If an outside specialist reviews an article, we identify them separately.

We sometimes use AI tools for planning and early drafts. Follower remains responsible for checking sources and deciding what to publish.

How coverage is researched

We check platform fees, features and rules against official documentation or clearly attributed reporting. When an article draws on our own account records or experience, it explains what we checked and what that evidence shows.

We distinguish practical suggestions from platform requirements, cite supporting sources and explain any important limits to our research.

Reviews, comparisons and earnings

Comparisons explain who each option suits and use consistent criteria where possible. Reviews make clear which findings come from documentation and which come from our own experience. Earnings examples state their assumptions and distinguish revenue from fees, expenses and tax. Celebrity earnings are not presented as typical results.

Affiliates

When affiliate programs are active, Follower may earn commissions from some links. Commercial relationships do not decide factual claims or recommendations. Relevant articles say when affiliate links may be present, and drawbacks stay in the piece alongside any call to action. See the affiliate disclosure.

Dates, news and corrections

Articles show a published date and, after a real editorial change, an updated date. We do not treat a technical rebuild as a new publish date. Adding a screenshot capture date does not by itself change an article’s update date.

News and interviews retain their original publication dates. When we add an update, we date it clearly and distinguish confirmed facts from claims or speculation.

If you spot a factual error, email hey@follower.co or use the contact page. We correct mistakes promptly and add a short note on the article when that helps readers.

Imagery

Reviews, comparisons and tutorials use genuine screenshots where they help explain a feature or process. Captions describe what each image shows, with a larger view where available. Generated or reconstructed images are never presented as real platform screenshots.

News, interviews and features may also use relevant photography where we have the necessary rights.
